JOE HARRINGTON is an NYC based comedian/writer/actor who recently relocated from Chicago, where he wrote and performed for over six years. As a Second City and Annoyance Theater trained performer, he specializes in sketch/improv and prides himself on his character work and writing.
In August, Joe will be performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with the original sketch show "Disco Horses: A Sketch Revue" at theSpaceUK.
You can catch his solo show "Buckley's Glass Brain" all around NYC. It has previously sold out this show at Caveat, The Brooklyn Comedy Collective, and The Annoyance Theater.
Joe recently wrapped up a for month run as a cast member in The Brooklyn Comedy Collective's first ever MainStage Residency show - an original sketch revue written and performed by the cast.
He hosts the monthly character/stand-up show "Turbo Town" at Pine Box Rock Shop. In Chicago, Joe ran "Turbo Town" for two years at The Lincoln Lodge where it gained a large, loyal following.
Additionally, he and collaborator Eric Greenbaum recently formed the sketch duo "Disco Horses" which debuted at NYC Sketch Fest in October, 2023 and went on to sell out at Under St. Marks. In April, they sold out a run of shows at The Annoyance Theater in Chicago. Most recently, they performed at The Second City and The Brooklyn Comedy Collective in June 2024 to more sell out shows.
Joe was selected to be in the 2023 Just For Laughs Character Showcase in Chicago, and made his Zanies Chicago debut in May 2023.
He is the founder and player with the sketch group "Boneless" - which had a sold out show at The Brooklyn Comedy Collective and a sold out show Under St. Marks in May of 2023. In Chicago, Boneless had runs at The IO Theater and The Annoyance Theater - and was also selected to be a part of Austin Sketch Fest in 2022
Additionally, Joe performed original bits, characters, and impressions as a solo act in shows all across Chicago, and has been doing the same in New York since his arrival.
He has contributed comedic articles to Slackjaw, Medium's largest humor publication, and has starred in, written, and/or directed over 30 short films.
When he's not performing comedy, Joe just shuts down like a robot that's powered off. There is not a single interesting fact about his personal life. A lot of people are suspicious of him.
